Yverdon-les-Bains
In 1259 Peter of Savoy built a castle on the site of Yverdon and founded a new town at the same time with a town-wall. Although the area was inhabited before, when referring to the new town of Yverdon, the Savoyard town from the 13th century is meant. The year 2010 offers a host of surprises and discoveries that will commemorate the 750th anniversary of the town. Yverdon-les-Bains will be the scene of many performances, events, exhibitions and activities.
